Adopt Don't Shop

Over a year ago my Grandma, the woman that raised me passed away. When I was little she was the one that took me in & raised me.  Well, fast forward to April of 2015 a few months after she passed I decided to get a dog. The hard part was finding one that my kids could be around with their allergies. I was told I could only buy one but I wouldn't hear of it. I hated to see animals being in shelters because they're unwanted. So, I decided to give Christian County Animal Shelter in Hopkinsville, Ky a try first. I walked in & told them what I wanted. I held several dogs but each one made me sneeze, cough & my eyes water.  Then the man showed me a dog that was sick but getting ready to be posted for adoption. He was a Yorkie. A bigger Yorkie. Well I held him & I just knew he was the one. He snuggled right to me & didn't want to be put down. When I tried to put him back in his cage? Peanut Butter Fudge

~ 3 cups granulated sugar ~ 5 oz. can evaporated milk ~ 3/4 cup butter ~ 7 oz. marshmallow creme ~ 10 oz. bag of Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips   Butter lightly a 13 x 9 inch baking dish, set aside. Bring the sugar, evaporated milk & butter to a boil on medium heat in a 4 qt. sauce pan stirring constantly. After it starts to boil, set a timer for 4 minutes. KEEP STIRRING, DO NOT STOP! When the 4 minutes is up, (or the candy thermometer reaches 235* F) take the pan off the burner, mix the marshmallow creme & peanut butter chips with the mixture until smooth. Pour into the buttered baking dish & set until cool.  *Cool completely before serving.* *Makes approx. 40 servings.* Enjoy!

Love God & Love Each Other

Matt. 22:37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.  These verses are very important & have a lot of meaning. God created us in his own image. He made us all unique & when we put ourselves down, I believe we’re putting the Lord down as well. We need to uplift ourselves & uplift each other. We also need to pray for one another.  This is where the 2nd great commandment comes in, we need to love our neighbor as ourself. Jesus is not just talking about our next door neighbor, he’s talking about everyone we come in contact with. Even the people we don’t know.
